“Terry” and “cooking” are two words which do not go well together!! Im glad that my table and instructors were so accommodating!

What we were cooking that day: Harako-Meshi, Hiyayakko(tofu) w Fresh Tomato and Onion Sauce + Sake Cocktail with Apple Gelee (obviously not by me, scroll below to see my end product.. haha!)
Kyodo-Ryori; a traditional local cuisine from the Tohoku region (North East), in particular Lwate,Miyagi and Fukushima Prefectures at this event. You remember the Earthquakes and all back in 2011? Well they're on the road-way to recovery and I must say its a pretty tasty one. Their foods (which some think are still not safe to consume) surpass international Q.C. standards not just health standards wise, but in taste too!

Our organized table before it got messy

Introduction of Kyodo-Ryori

I guess this was why the session was slightly behind time, overly focused participants..

Peeling them apples (took me quite awhile to figure out how to safely use it *laughs*

Grate ah grate

Cooking the apple puree

Leaving it to rest (and refrigerate after that)

Preparing the salmon for our Harako-Meshi (I was using eye power)

Fishies swimming in the Sake-infused Soya broth!

Interesting technique used! #OrImJustSwaku
Leaving the salmon to rest

We cooked the rice in the Salmon & Soya-Sake broth after that

End Product (Was a little red from the sake..)

One of the few lectures I’ll gladly listen to! #SakeLecture!!

No idea what is what..

Cute sake tasting chart! All in all, the hearty food and people, but more importantly news that the Tohoku region is recovering well from unfortunate incidents in the past is definitely reassuring. After all, what's not to love about Japan?
